From grassroots to glory: Impact of Women’s Big Bash League

Women’s Big Bash League is the franchise cricket tournament held annually in Australia. Best players from all over the world participate in this tournament. It started in 2014-15 and since then it has successfully upgraded the level of cricket in the country. 
The most successful teams in the tournament are 

Sydney Sixers, Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder. All these teams have won two title each. 
The 2024-25 edition will start from 27th October and the opening match will be played at Adelaide Oval.

IPL auction 2025: Reshaping team dynamics

IPL 2025 will be even more exciting as the retention rules have changes. The auction for the next edition of IPL will be held in November and that is when we’ll see major shuffling happening. New players will be emerging, old players will be bought by different franchises etc. 

The retention rules have changes drastically. Following are the change in rules:

  • Retention of maximum of six players(RTM card) 
  • Auction purse for each team increased to ₹120 crore from ₹100 crore
  • A maximum of 5 capped players (Indian or overseas) can be retained 
  • Maximum of 2 uncapped players can be retained 
  • Indian players who have not played for the country for the past 5 years are consider uncapped. 
  • Salary slab for retained uncapped player is ₹4 crore and this shall be deducted from total purse value
