Cricket was always a male dominant sport and all the facilities were provided to them only, but now, since past 2-3 years, we are seeing a transition in women’s cricket as a lot of measures are being taken by BCCI to promote women’s cricket. Major changes have come only after the inclusion of WPL. Some of these steps are increase in match fees, increase in participation, more number of matches at domestic level etc. 

All these are great indicators of where women’s cricket in heading. Soon, India will become number one nation as well. 

Women’s premier league is the franchise cricket for women in India. In this tournament, both overseas and domestic players participate. In total there are 5 teams- Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriors. So far, 2 seasons have held, the first one was won by Mumbai Indians and the second one by Royal Challengers Bangalore. They both defeated Delhi Capitals in the final to clinch the trophy.

The tournament is held annually in a round robin format and it is a great chance for players to demonstrate their capabilities. The scouts of the teams pick players and thus they help in giving recognition to the untapped talent.

Rest and recovery are vital for athletes, balancing work with rest to prevent injuries and achieve long-term success. Methods include deep tissue massages for pain and stiffness, contrast baths for circulation, pool sessions for muscle soreness, ice baths for reducing muscle tension, regular body massages and stretching for flexibility, foam rolling for blood flow, and a diet rich in proteins and electrolytes for faster recovery.

The Indian team toured Sri Lanka in July 2024 to play 3 match series of T20 and 3 of ODI. After winning the 2024 World Cup, it was the first time senior men’s team travelling to play a series. During the World Cup , Rahul Dravid was coaching the side but now Gambhir is the in charge. Gautam Gambhir is known for all the shuffling and a lot of it happened in this tour as well. While is was a good outing for the T20 side, it was a bellow par performance in one day cricket .Team India needs to quickly analyse and rectify their mistakes so that they can win the 2025 Championship Trophy

IPL is big tournament in India and is conducted annually by BCCI. It gives a great platform to all the existing and new players as their performance here can earn them an India cap. The process of getting selected in IPL is through scouts, academies, performance in board matches etc. Players too need to have extraordinary talent to play at this mega event. They need to be really good in their department, that is, batting or bowling. They need to have sharp fielding skills as well, only then they can survive and excel at the highest level. 

Michael Clarke was an Australian cricket and a true legend of the sport. Across formats he played 394 matches, scoring 17112 runs at an average of 45.26 and taking 94 wickets. 
He led the national team for sometime and even lifted the 2015 ICC cricket World Cup. For his contributions in the field and of cricket, he was recognised with various awards of multiple occasions like Allan Border Medal etc. Clarke didn’t feature much in franchise cricket. He barely played any match in IPL or in BBL.
