Pair of brothers who have played cricket for their country together
When any budding cricketer aspires to play any sport at international level, it’s not just he/she who works hard and sacrifices all the leisure, it’s the entire family that works together. It’s not an individual goal but a joint goal of all the members who unite together to achieve something massive. Now, imagine two players coming out of the same family and representing their nation. It’s double the hard work. But the bonus side is that it’s a very proud moment for everyone who has significantly contributed.

Siblings who have represented their country together
Steve and Mark Waugh
The twin brothers. Mark and Steve Waugh played test and ODI cricket for Australia from 1980s to 2000s. Among both these players, Steve Waugh had a more successful career as he played 168 Tests and 325 ODIs. Mark Waugh on the other hand played 128 Tests and 244 ODIs
Nathan and Brendon McC
McCullum brothers played cricket for New Zealand. Junior McCullum- Brendon was the captain of the national team as well. Nathan was an off break bowler, but McCullum was an opening right handed batter.
Albie Morkel and Morne
This South African duo was known for their extraordinary bowling skills. Albie was the elder one and was a genuine all rounder. Morne was the younger one and he was known for this insane pace. Both these players were regular members in IPL as well.
Krunal Pandya and Hardik
Pandya Brothers play for India. The junior Pandya- Hardik is a great player who is an asset to the Indian team. He made a notable contribution in the 2024 World Cup and has even led the national side on various occasions. Krunal, on the other hand, hasn’t got much international exposure, though he has featured a lot in domestic cricket and IPL.
Irfan Pathan and Yusuf
This duo came from a small town in Baroda, India and they made a mark at international level quite early. Yusuf Pathan was an off spinner and a power hitter and Irfan Pathan was a left arm seamer who used to be dangerous for batters with his swinging deliveries.
Mohinder and Surinder Amarnath
Mohinder and Surinder were the sons of legend Lala Amarnath, and acquired their talent from their great father. Surinder Amarnath was the elder one. He played 10 tests and 3 ODI for India. Younger one was Mohinder Amarnath. He was the vice captain and also the Player of the match in the final of the 1983 ICC ODI World Cup, that team India won.
Kamran Akmal Umar

These brothers from Lahore set world cricket on fire. Kamran was a wicket keeper batsman and Umar Akmal was an explosive middle order batter. Interestingly, their cousin brother- Babar Azam is now the captain of the national squad.
Ian, Greg and Trevor Chappel
All the three brothers made notable contributions in the field of cricket. Ian Chappell was also known as Chappelli and was considered as one of the greatest captains in cricket history. Trevor Chappell didn’t play much international cricket as his career was overshadowed in an incident in 1981 when he bowled an underarm delivery to prevent the batsman from hitting a six. Greg Chappell on the other hand had a prolific career as he was even the vice captain of the Australian team. He played 87 tests and 74 ODI for the country.
Brett Lee and Shane Lee
We all know the Australian pacer Brett Lee, but not many are aware that his brother- Shane Lee played for the country too. Shane has featured in 45 ODIs. He was a right handed batter and a right arm medium pacer.
Michael and David
Michael Hussey aka Mr. cricket has won many ICC events. He was a left handed batsman who had a unique elegance in his strokes. In total he played 79 Tests and 185 ODIs for Australia. The younger one, David Hussey features only in white ball cricket for Australia. He was a right handed batter and an off spinner.
Andy and Grant Flower
The Flower brothers represented the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team. Andy Flower is regarded as the greatest wicket keeper batter, the country has ever produced. Grant Flower, though, was a slow left arm orthodox bowler and a right handed batter. Currently, both the brothers have turned into full time coaches.
Shaun and Mitchell Marsh
Shaun and Mitchell are the sons of Australian ex cricketer- Geoff Marsh. Shaun Marsh is the elder one and he has represented Australia in all the three formats. Mitchell Marsh is the younger one and is presently the captain of Australian team in the T20 format.
Tom, Sam Curran and Ben Curran
Tom, Sam and Ben Curran are all professional cricketers, with Sam and Ben having represented the England Cricket Team. These three brothers got their cricket genes from their father who is an ex Zimbabwean cricketer- Kevin Curran. Tom is the eldest among the three and has represented England Cricket Team in all the three formats. Ben Curran on the other hand, has not made a mark in international cricket yet. He has played for Nottinghamshire in the domestic circuit. The youngest, Sam Curran has climbed up the ranks quite early and is a regular member in the English squad.
