T20 specialists in Team Indian
The national Bangladesh Team has toured in India and the hosts ended the test series on a high note with a lot of positive intakes from the two Test match series. Now, the next big task for both the teams is the 3 match T20I series commencing on 6th October, 2025. Selectors appointed by BCCI have already declared the squad for the upcoming T20 series as we can see a bit of shuffling and newcomers making entry.

Team review
The three maestros of the game, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have already retired from the shortest format, hence, the team looks quite young and inexperienced. Although this is the right time to give exposure to young guns as the baton has officially been passed.
The two Delhi boys, Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana, who did extremely well in IPL 2024, and brought the cricket world to storm with the raw pace, have received their maiden India call as well. Hopefully, they will get their share of chances in the Indian setup as well. It will be really exciting to see them as they both look like the future of the Indian team. Another youngster who got his maiden call is Nitish Reddy. After his exceptional performance in IPL 2024, senior players and selectors find him as a powerful all rounder who can bat and ball in critical situations.
As far as captaincy is concerned, Suryakumar Yadav did extremely well in the Sri Lanka tour. It is expected that he will carry the same tempo in home series as well. He is another captain cool from India who controls his nerves well during tight situations. Not only that, he is the go to man at the time of crisis, and who has time and again proved his caliber as a leader.
Varun Chakaravathy comes back in the scheme as he is called after 3 years. The so called ‘Mystery Spinner’ gets another chance as head coach Gautam Gambhir holds high opinion about him. Maybe this time he can forget his horrific start in the World Cup and prove his talent like he does in franchise
The team has only one specialist opener: Abhishek Sharma. It is thus expected that Sanju Samson will be his partner. It is a great opportunity for him as he can cement his spot with the opportunities provided to him in the absence of Jaiswal and Gill.
The new batch of T20 specialists have seniors like Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube. They are the true drivers of the game and hence their contribution in the middle will be counted.
Six key players are missing from the squad. These players are Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubhman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammad Siraj, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel. Five of these players were in the squad that lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup and hence the team looks a little weak without them. However, it’s essential to throw other players to the deeper end of the pool, only then they can be tested. It will be interesting to see how the fresh bunch of T20 players take on the Bangladesh assignment.
